Bespoke Study Storage in Congleton, Cheshire

Hart Bespoke Furniture designed and crafted a bespoke study storage and bookcase unit for a client in Congleton, Cheshire. From the outset, the brief focused on creating a functional yet refined space. As a result, the team designed a layout to house a model collection, accommodate a 3D printer and bring order to a well-used study.

Project highlights

Spray finished in Farrow & Ball Caulke Green – the team spray finished the cabinetry in Caulke Green. This muted tone adds warmth and gives the study a distinguished character.

Oak top – the team installed a solid oak top across the unit. As a result, it introduces warmth and a natural contrast against the painted finish.

Oak back panels – the team crafted oak back panels with a clear lacquer finish. This creates a rich backdrop that enhances books and models without overpowering them.

Antique brass hardware – the team selected Hendel & Hendel Barrington Eclipse handles in Antique Brass. This detail adds a refined, traditional finish to the cabinetry.

Lower storage – the team designed the lower section with four doors. This provides generous closed storage and keeps everyday items neatly hidden.

Open upper section – the team kept the upper section open throughout. This creates display space for the model collection while also accommodating the 3D printer in a practical way.

Matching desk top – the team crafted a solid oak top for the standing desk. This ensures a consistent and cohesive finish across the room.

Design & functionality

This Congleton study shows how bespoke furniture can balance practicality with craftsmanship. By combining closed storage below with open display above, the team created a layout that feels organised and intentional.

At the same time, the dedicated space for the 3D printer keeps it accessible while maintaining a clean aesthetic. The combination of Caulke Green, solid oak and antique brass adds warmth and a timeless feel.

Finally, the matching desk top ties the room together, ensuring every surface shares the same level of quality and detail. As a result, the space feels cohesive, personal and built for everyday use.
